Slidesearch Service Terms

Last updated: June 5, 2026

These Service Terms govern access to and use of Slidesearch unless separate written terms between O8X B.V. and the Customer provide otherwise. Commercial terms, including pricing, subscription periods, usage limits, service levels, support commitments, pilots, and other service-specific terms, may be set out in an order form, proposal, subscription plan, statement of work, or other written agreement. If there is a conflict, the separate written terms prevail.

1. Parties And Service

Slidesearch is provided by O8X B.V. (Dutch Chamber of Commerce number 42056846).

"Customer" means the organization or individual that creates, administers, evaluates, purchases, or uses a Slidesearch workspace.

Slidesearch helps Customers discover, search, reuse, and manage slide content through Microsoft PowerPoint integrations, web applications, indexing services, Microsoft 365 integrations, search functionality, preview functionality, and related features.

2. Customer Responsibilities

Customer is responsible for:

  • its users and workspace administration;
  • ensuring that only authorized users access the service;
  • selecting and authorizing connected Microsoft 365 sources, SharePoint sites, OneDrive locations, Azure storage accounts, and other connected repositories;
  • managing permissions, consent grants, access controls, and customer-managed infrastructure;
  • maintaining the security of Customer-controlled systems, credentials, and environments; and
  • ensuring it has all rights, permissions, and legal bases required to make Customer Data available to Slidesearch.

O8X B.V. may suspend or restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect the service, comply with law, prevent abuse, or address security or operational risks.

3. Customer Data And Intellectual Property

"Customer Data" means data that Customer or its users submit, connect, upload, generate, or otherwise make available through the service, including slide content, source files, repository metadata, prompts, search queries, workspace configuration, and related data.

Customer retains all rights, title, and interest in Customer Data.

Except for Customer Data, all intellectual property rights in Slidesearch, including its software, models, interfaces, documentation, designs, improvements, and related technology, remain the property of O8X B.V.

Subject to these Terms, O8X B.V. grants Customer a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service during the applicable subscription or evaluation period.

Customer grants O8X B.V. the rights necessary to process Customer Data for the purpose of providing, securing, supporting, maintaining, and improving the service.

O8X B.V. will not sell Customer Data or use Customer Data to train or fine-tune foundation models for its own benefit unless Customer expressly agrees in writing.

O8X B.V. may generate and use aggregated and anonymized statistics relating to operation, performance, usage, and improvement of the service, provided such statistics do not identify Customer or its users.

4. Privacy, Security, And Subprocessors

Where O8X B.V. processes personal data on behalf of Customer, Customer acts as controller and O8X B.V. acts as processor unless applicable law requires otherwise.

The Data Processing Agreement applies to that processing unless the parties have agreed a separate written data processing agreement.

O8X B.V. will:

  • process personal data only as necessary to provide the service and in accordance with Customer instructions reflected in these Terms, product configuration, or separate written agreements;
  • ensure personnel with access to Customer Data are subject to confidentiality obligations;
  • implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect Customer Data;
  • use subprocessors as listed in the current subprocessors register; and
  • provide reasonable assistance with data protection obligations where required by applicable law.

The current list of subprocessors is available in Subprocessors.

If O8X B.V. confirms a security incident affecting Customer Data, it will notify Customer without undue delay and provide available information regarding the incident and mitigation measures.

A separate data processing agreement may supplement or replace this section.

5. Confidentiality

Each party may receive confidential information from the other party in connection with the service.

Each party will:

  • use the other party's confidential information only for purposes related to the service; and
  • protect such information using reasonable care.

Customer Data is Customer confidential information.

The Slidesearch software, technical documentation, architecture, models, product roadmap, and other non-public service information are confidential information of O8X B.V.

6. Acceptable Use

Customer and its users must not:

  • use the service unlawfully or in violation of third-party rights;
  • access or attempt to access data, workspaces, repositories, accounts, or systems without authorization;
  • introduce malware or other harmful code;
  • reverse engineer the service except where mandatory law permits; or
  • interfere with or disrupt the operation of the service.

7. Availability, Changes, And Pilots

O8X B.V. may modify the service to improve functionality, security, reliability, compliance, or performance.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, pilot, beta, proof-of-concept, trial, and evaluation services may be modified, limited, suspended, or discontinued at any time.

No service-level agreement applies unless expressly stated in separate written terms.

8. Termination And Deletion

Free trials, evaluations, and pilots may be terminated by either party at any time unless agreed otherwise in writing.

Paid subscriptions terminate in accordance with the applicable commercial terms.

Following termination or an authorized deletion request, O8X B.V. will delete Customer Data from Slidesearch-controlled systems in accordance with applicable retention, backup, legal hold, and operational requirements.

Customer remains responsible for removing or revoking permissions, consent grants, enterprise applications, storage access, and other customer-controlled integrations and resources.

9. Disclaimers

Except as expressly stated in separate written terms, the service is provided "as is" and "as available".

O8X B.V. does not guarantee uninterrupted operation, error-free functionality, complete search results, or the accuracy of generated outputs, rankings, metadata, or recommendations.

Customer remains responsible for reviewing outputs before using them in business, legal, financial, regulatory, client-facing, or other high-impact contexts.

10. Liability

Except where prohibited by law or expressly agreed otherwise in separate written terms, O8X B.V.'s aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the service will not exceed the fees paid by Customer during the twelve months preceding the claim.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, O8X B.V. is not liable for indirect, consequential, incidental, special, punitive, or similar damages, including lost profits, lost revenue, loss of goodwill, loss of business opportunity, or damages arising from customer-controlled systems, permissions, credentials, storage, tenant configuration, or source content.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability to the extent such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.

11. Governing Law And Contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, excluding conflict-of-law rules.

Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms will be submitted to the competent courts of the Netherlands unless mandatory law requires otherwise.
